Hi. My name is Cheshirlock McCatiraptor and this is my blog. You can call me Chesh, Cheshie, Chess, Cheshire, Duchess, cat, dinosaur, Velocicat, Catiraptor, TimeCat… it’s a long list. Just pick something you’re cosy with and roll with it.
But perhaps you want more information than that? Very well — proceed with caution. You have been warned.
I’ve tried several times to explain the uhh-… somewhat unnatural circumstances of my birth. Being half-cat, half-velociraptor [catiraptor or velocicat, both are accurate terms] is not easy. I identify as a cat, because — despite my very clever, and adorable human disguise — I have more cat tendencies than I do dinosaur. Also, if I identified as a dinosaur, I’d probably be black-bagged by the dino!police — something I have been avoiding my entire life.
My dads are both medical doctors, and despite no longer being together, have raised me well in the arts of their respective species. My cat!father, Dr. John Watson, is a former army kitten, and not to be confused with my Watson, Princess of Delerity. My dino!Papa, Anderson, will answer any and all questions posed to him on his lovely blog, Notes from Anderson.
Going into detail on what it means to be a catiraptor would take far too long. (Largely because I would have to explain the family connections with my crazy cousins from Jurassic Park, and how all cats are actually TimeLords… or rather, TimeLords are cats. It’s complicated.) And even though I’m rather fond of talking (especially about myself), I’ll save the thought-provoking discussions for another time. But enough about my species, you’re probably here to learn about my blog and my posts, and the silly things I do. That is well, for it is a rather mad place.
First and foremost: this is a personal blog, and I post a lot. I make a disturbing number of useless text posts, and I don’t often tag things. Sometimes I reblog porny gifs, and I swear like a sailor in need of shore leave. None of this is going to change. Also, this is not a spoiler-free blog. It never has been, and it never will be. My one exception is if a show or series hasn’t actually aired in the public arena. If it has, it’s fair game.
My main fandoms (and the things I reblog most frequently) are listed to the left, there, on my sidebar. Those are my favourites, and what you will see the most of. In addition to those fandoms, however, you will also find specific celebrities, and specific ships. I ship everything. I don’t discriminate. And I don’t indulge anyone who contributes to ship-hate.
If you’ve glanced at the second link, you may have noticed that I prefer rare pairings and secondary characters. Obviously there are exceptions (hello, Destiel!). It happens. I do not like a. tagged hate posts, b. hating a character or ship because everyone else does, and c. reblogging posts with rude, spiteful comments.
This has gotten dreadfully serious. Let’s return to the usual humour and batshit nature of my blog.
Here are a few facts that are not important, that I feel like including (since, after all, this is an ‘about me’ page): I’m a Slytherin, and a Libra. My favourite colour is teal, and my favourite pattern is tartan (Blackwatch), and I wear rather a lot of it. I like cranberry juice and dislike pomegranites. I prefer men with broad shoulders (in uniform), and have a huge glasses!kink. I own a replica of the medallion from the Curse of the Black Pearl, a small spyglass, and a ship-in-a-bottle from the Caribbean island of Dominica. I drink ridiuculous amounts of Pepsi and English Breakfast tea. I love studying foreign languages and linguistics, and am currently trying to teach myself Norwegian and Welsh (just because I can). Jeg er en vakker katt. If you’ll look to the top left corner of this page, you’ll see me fading in and out of existence. I do that sometimes. It’s a cat thing.
I make gifs and graphics. Usually for whatever series I’m watching at the time, but I occasionally have the urge to make something specific or take requests… or whatever.
I also write a lot. I’d like to be an author some day, but right now I just don’t have the drive for it. I’m much better at short ‘ficlets’, as they’re called, rather than long chapter stories.
